Prof. Julius O Ihonvbere condemns Senator Alimikhina for voting against e-transmission.
…those against e-transmission don’t want Nigeria to grow!
Prof Julius O Ihonvbere, member representing Owan Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives has blasted the senator representing his senatorial district of Edo North, Senator Alimikhina for voting against e-transmission of election results. He said that Senator Alimikhina does not want Nigeria to grow! Prof Ihonvbere made the remark when he hosted a townhall and Owan stakeholders meeting from 19th-23rd July, 2021 in Afuze, Owan East local government area.
In a interview with the press, Prof Ihonvbere lamented the deliberate attempt by Senator Alimikhina and his likes to frustrate development in the country. He condemned their attitude to things that will help in not just the growth of the society but also enhance our competitiveness in the sub region… “ I support electronic transmission of result, I know INEC has the capacity for electronic transmission, unless INEC wants to say those card readers they sent to different parts of the country are for decoration, in which case, all the elections we used them will be canceled. But it is not! The card reader uses sim and in the over 190,000 polling booths there are card readers using sim . People are writing WAEC,People are writing NECO , they are doing computer based test . Nigeria must move forward when are we going to grow and agree that where we are, we should leave . Other countries are moving forward , Rwanda ,Ghana around us . So, I support the electronic transmission “
You will recall that Edo North Solidarity Movement disowned Senator Alimikhina over his decision to vote against the electronic transmission of election results. The chairman, Comrade Adams Oshiogwe made it clear that the embattled senator does not serve the interest of Edo North but a tiny and rudderless cabal. The group vowed that Senator Alimikhina is politically dead in the region !
