NAME: Dan Osa Ogbeide, Bse Hons (IFE), M.Phil (18), D.M.E (HOLLAND), Pti.D (HC), F.N.M.G.S, FGS (LOND), CONSULTANT GEOLOGIST.

Dan Ogbeide was born on the 1st of March 1945 at Evbohuan in present day Uhunmwonde L.G.A of Edo State to the family of late Mr. & Mrs. Cole Ogbeide.

EDUCATION: Started my primary school at B.D.C Obadan 1951 and moved to American Baptist School, Benin City now Ogbe Primary School and finished my primary school at Obadan in 1958.

I attended Holy Trinity Grammer School Sabongidda Ora 1960-1964 for WASC. I proceeded to Muslim College Ijebu Ode for my higher school certificate. H.Sc. 1965-1966

Entered the University of Ife, Ibadan campus, and studied geology from 1967 to 1971.

In 1966, I studied mining geology at the international institute of Aerial survey & Earth Science, an affiliate of (DELFT) University of Technology Holland 1966-1967.

In 1968 I enrolled at the university of Ibadan with an M.Phil degree in Exploration Geochemistry 1968-1969 with an M.Phil degree by research

WORKING EXPERIENCE

In 1967 Jan-Aug 1967 taught Basic Science at Evboneka Grammer School.

1971 June-Dec 1971. Taught mathematics and science at Baptist High school Benin City.

In 1971 to 1999 worked as a federal geologist with Federal ministry of mines, power and steel, as Chief Geologist for 20 years at Ibadan, Benin, Owerri and Ilorin and was promoted to the Directorate Cadre in Abuja before retiring in 1999.

I was in Ghana from 2008-2009 working as a consultant Geologist, mining Gold in Kumasi, Ghana. On retirement, I set up a consultancy firm of Danosa Service as the CEO.

MARRIED LIFE: I am a happily married man. I married my adorable and amiable wife Mrs. Esther Omosefe on the 13th of April, 1974. Mrs. Ogbeide served First bank for 35 years before she retired as a Manager. Our marriage is blessed with six children, three boys and three girls and eight grand children so far and three sons in-laws
