The Constituency Office of Dr. Omoregie Ogbeide Ihama, Member Representing, Oredo Federal Constituency and Chairman has offered free eye screening and treatment for children in Oredo local government area.

Parents and guidance took their wards to the constituency office to benefit from the free eye screening, treatment, free drugs and free eye glasses for children who need them.

Opticians and other medical personnel from a non-governmental organization, Eyes for the future carried out series of test on the children.

Some parents and children expressed delight for the free care, which they described as first of its kind in Oredo Federal Constituency.

The beneficiaries stand by Dr Omoreige Ogbeide Ihama for the gesture and enduring to sustain the tempo just as the coordinator eyes for the future Uwa Amadim hailed Dr Omoregie Ogbeide Ihama whom she described as always setting the pace.

Parent/guardian on her Ward: she has eye problem right from K.G 3 So as I heard of this very free treatment because I do not have money to take her to eye clinic, so I had to rush her here this morning.

Another beneficiary/child, thanked Dr. Ihama for treating her eyes.’’ Thank you honourable Ogbeide Ihama for giving us free eye checkup.

Anna Ago said ‘’I feel good because it is a privilege for someone to help children and help them with their eye problem to make it good.

Uwa Amadim noted that the ‘’programme is all about partnership with the Honourable Ogbeide Ihama of Oredo Constituency, he has been so marvelous.

The sponsor and member representing Oredo federal constituency Dr. Ihama said he is deeply concerned about the welfare of the Oredo charge whom he believes are the leaders of tomorrow.

He said beyond match pass and cultural dance competition, his foundation is desirous of ensuring the children of Oredo are not affected by any form of impediment.

Dr. Ihama said: ‘’sometimes we must think about the welfare of our children, we must think about their health status and their well-being.

‘’So last year we had a programme for children, it was a test competition but this year we decided to take a different initiative by testing the eyes of our children and ensuring that we are able to detect any eye defect early enough.

‘’We have empowerment for women; we have attracted federal government presence in terms of infrastructural development, so we also think our children should not be left out especially when the future of Nigeria depends completely on them.

Dr Omoreige Ogbeide Ihama promised that everyone in Oredo irrespective of age would be carried along in the scheme of things.
