Chris Osa Nehikhare, Honourable Commissioner for Communication and Orientation has said that the All Progressives Congress ((APC) has caused significant suffering for Nigerians since assumption of office in 2015 adding that the candidate of the (APC) in the coming Edo governorship election, Senator Monday Okpebholo will only intensify the spate of suffering in Edo.

This was contained in a statement he issued, signed and made available to the Press yesterday in Benin City, the Edo State capital.

According to him, “the APC party has caused significant pain and suffering for Nigerians. Since taking office in 2015, we have witnessed a steady decline in our economy, an increase in the cost of living, and a deterioration in our quality of life. Once regarded as a giant, Nigeria has now become a subject of ridicule, reduced to the status of mere Lilliputians.

“In 2023, despite their failures, the APC was inexplicably rewarded with an additional four years in power. True to form, they have continued to exacerbate the challenges inherited from their previous administration. Today, the realities are unbearable; every Nigerian feels the weight of the damage inflicted by the APC.

“As we approach the governorship elections in Edo State on September 21, 2024, I am astonished to see the APC presenting a candidate. Much like the leadership that has led Nigeria into turmoil, the APC’s candidate, Senator Monday Okpebholo, appears to be out of touch, uninspiring and uninspired. His campaign has not offered any meaningful vision for Edo State, and he seems beholden to a former governor and other notorious figures from the past.

“Senator Okpebholo has yet to demonstrate any initiative or capability that would distinguish him as a leader. It is evident that he would only bring the misfortunes experienced under the APC to Edo State.

“In contrast, since the PDP and Governor Obaseki took office, Edo State has achieved numerous milestones, including significant improvements in GDP and IGR. Despite the overarching challenges faced by Nigeria, Edo’s economy remains optimistic and resilient.

He therefore admonished Edo people to reject the APC in the coming Edo governorship election

“To maintain this positive trajectory, we must reject the APC and its candidate.

“I, Chris Osa Nehikhare, Honourable Commissioner for Communication and Orientation endorse Asue Ighodalo and Osarodion Ogie of the PDP for the positions of governor and deputy governor of Edo State.

*On September 21, I urge you to vote PDP—we hear the cries of the people. We must lead them through the Pathway to Prosperity.

“You will agree with me that the Future is AI.
