The planned launch of the Edo Data Center has reach advanced stage as the Edo State governor, Mr Godwin Obaseki plans to commission the Center tomorrow in Benin City.
According to a release made available to the Press earlier today in Benin City, the Commissioner for Digital Economy, Science and Technology, Ogbeide Ifaluyi-Isibor said that tomorrow, his Excellency Mr Godwin Obaseki would be launching a comprehensive digital policy and the Data Center at the Festival Hall at the government house in Benin City tomorrow by 9 am.
According to him, ” tomorrow promises to be a truly memorable day in the life of our dear State as
most of us have never seen or visited a Data Center or understand what a Data Center is made up of. That reality is about to change as H.E. Governor Godwin Obaseki commissions the only state-owned Tier 3 Data Center in West Africa.
“That’s not all! Edo State also stands out as the only sub-national entity in Sub-Saharan Africa to have developed a comprehensive Digital Policy. This important initiative will be officially launched tomorrow morning, friday, November 1, 2024 by 9 AM at the Festival Hall, Government House by His Excellency.
He urged people to create the time to be part of the auspicious occasion as he said it was a rare opportunity to visit a data center
“If you have any other engagements scheduled for tomorrow, it is in your best interest to reconsider, as this may be a rare opportunity to visit a Data Center and proudly, the best anywhere around. Don’t miss this golden chance to marvel at the incredible achievements of human ingenuity sponsored by the Edo State Government.
“After the Digital Policy launch at 9 AM, we will proceed to the Data Center within the Government House for the official unveiling”.
