A Nigerian husband who accused his wife of tearing his passport at the airport has retracted his accusation and criticized bloggers for highlighting the story.

A viral video showed an altercation at the Lagos International Airport after a woman intentionally tore her husband’s passport. The wife admitted to tearing the passport, and in response, the husband released a video claiming his wife was the problem.

He also released an extended video of the altercation, claiming he had given his friend his phone to film her actions. Now, after his wife was picked up by Immigration officers and taken to Abuja for questioning, the man is singing a different tune.
Husband, who had earlier created a video accusing his wife of deliberately damaging his passport at the airport, has now reversed his stance and criticised bloggers for bringing attention to the incident.

Over the weekend, a video went viral depicting a confrontation at the Lagos International Airport when a lady deliberately damaged her husband’s passport.

The video unequivocally captures the wife confessing to deliberately damaging the passport. Subsequently, the woman released a further video in which she explained her rationale for deliberately damaging her husband’s passport. She confessed that she deliberately ripped it at the Nigerian airport to prevent him from being able to return.

As a reply, the husband also published a video of his own, explicitly stating that his wife is the source of the issue. Subsequently, he publicly shared an elongated video capturing the incident that took place at the airport. He also said that he was aware of his wife’s tendency to cause a commotion, so he entrusted his friend with his phone to record her behaviour.

Following the arrest of his wife by Immigration authorities and her subsequent transfer to Abuja for interrogation, the man’s perspective has undergone a significant shift.

He claimed the video was just a “skit”. He then tried to turn the blame on bloggers for publicising the story.

He said: “I’m here with my kids to send an appeal to the public of Nigeria, to the whole world also, that what my wife tore, is not passport.

“She never tore my passport; she never spoilt my passport. My passport is intact.”

He added: “We’re doing a skit.”
